This being one of the author’s novels that I’ve been meaning to read but haven’t gotten round to reading, the opportunity was simply too good to pass up. Besides, having watched the movie starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslett on video, it makes sense to me to finally pick up the book and read it. What better time than this year to do so!
But wait, this challenge is not just about reading the novel. The fun is extended to sequels and spinoffs, and other related interpretations of it. Oh, and this will fit right with the Historical Reading Fiction Reading Challenge I’ve also signed up for.

Check Back Monthly: The Sense and Sensibility Bicentenary Challenge 2011 officially begins on Wednesday, January 26, 2010 with Laurel’s review of the novel The Three Weismanns of Westport. Every 4th Wednesday of the month, she’ll post a review for the challenge.
Oh, and there are prizes … There will be giveaways each month of the book or movie that Laurel reviews in the challenge on Austenprose to be drawn from comments left with each post, and one lucky Grand Prize Winner of all 12 titles tucked into a Jane Austen tote bag ($200.00 value) to be drawn from comments left at any and all of the reviews left on this blog or yours.
